Paula’s COVID-19 charity campaign
In 2020, I had the privilege to run a charitable campaign through the sale of my self-published book “Paula and the Pandemic”.
Two years later, in April 2022, Paula’s pandemic campaign officially ended. While the circumstances surrounding the publication of “Paula” have been difficult and painful for so many, its been a privilege to run this campaign.
With the help of new and old friends, “Paula” was translated into 4 languages, reached more than 24,000 views on dozens of public YouTube ‘story times’ as well as several non-public ones that teachers asked to be able to share with their students.
More than 15,300 copies (including Kindle and classroom editions) were sold, raising more than $23,300 for Doctors Without Borders and Give Directly.
After the dynamics surrounding the pandemic changed, I announced the end of the campaign on Amazon in April 2022. I remain immensely grateful for all the children, teachers and parents who I was able to connect with through this little book. This has probably been one of the coolest projects I’ve ever done.
